ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Serving the residents of the Jacksonville Urban Core Communities.

DISTRICT OF SOUL
Located on the City's Northside, the District of Soul is located in a densely populated neighborhood with a huge void in economic activity.
There is a wealth of talent and creativity that goes largely unrecognized because of many challenges that up-and-coming entrepreneurs are forced to endure. The demand for businesses that provide job opportunities, retail outlets and professional services is great and has been overlooked by traditional business models. We aspire to provide a space that both the businesses and community will mutually benefit.
OUR MISSION
Transform Northwest Jacksonville neighborhoods by creating opportunities that lead to economic recovery and empower residents to create a better life for the community. NWJCDC works throughout the City of Jacksonville but focuses on bringing resources for the betterment of Northwest Jacksonville.

Past Events
NJCDC's 2018 Annual Day of Thanks was a celebration for creating a sense of community with a two-day event focusing on honoring community partners and neighborhood associations with an awards ceremony.
Following the ceremony was a well-attended food giveaway in which 42 volunteers and 20 community organizations served over 202 families in Northwest Jacksonville. In addition to receiving free food provided by Farmshare, families received resources from 20 partnering organizations including BB&T, Ambetter Sunshine Health, CarePlus Health Plans, WellCare, Catholic Charities, CNS Healthcare and Community First Credit Union.
Special thanks to NJCDC Board Members and Magnolia Gardens Neighborhood Association for their service and hardwork in helping to setup the event.
